The Bicyclists Wins Best of The Festival Award at The Columbia Gorge International Film Festival

We're proud to announce that The Bicyclists has won the "Best of the Festival" award at The Columbia Gorge International Film Festival

The three year old festival screened 300 films from all over the world (hence the "International" part in the title) over three days very long days. We were able to watch a multitude of films and still had only seen about fifty by the time the awards ceremony rolled around on Saturday night.

Here's a list of the winning films from the festival. If you get a chance to see them, or for that matter any independent film, do so, because there's plenty of gems out there waiting to be discovered.

Morgan Grace's "Vampire Love" Set To Premiere June 30th

What could Morgan be thinking: "June 30th, June 30th...huh...there's some other movie premiering that night too. Oh yeah, something about twilight..."

We're just waiting around until Morgan Grace's "Vampire Love" music video, produced/sfx by Sharon Jameson and directed/shot/edited by yours truly will premiere at Kelly's Olympian in downtown Portland. There's a whole line up of great singers in what is billed as the Portland Songwriter's All Girl Show starting at eight.

We're excited to premiere "Vampire Love" on the big screen there and also launch it online that night. I'll put a link right HERE when it's ready to premiere. (The video is ready to watch, so go ahead and click the link to view "Vampire Love".) It's our first music video and we'd appreciate it if you shared the link.

thanks...

The Bicyclists Needs You

The Bicyclists has shown at film festivals, independent theaters, some bars and a coffee shop over the last year. There have been some great showings and audiences, but we aren't done with this ride yet.

We need help matching up venues, audiences in a variety of towns and cities across this great country of ours. I have some cities in mind, say like Seattle, Asheville, Madison, Missoula, I don't know ... help me out here. If you know of a location in the said cities or any other place that there might be audience for The Bicyclists let us know. Maybe, we can work out a screening.

If you are a member of a non-profit group or if you know of, sponsor or have an event that benefits your community or a non-profit in your area and you'd like show The Bicyclists as a part of a fundraiser or the festivities please drop us a line we'd love to talk. We can provide a copy of the film, posters, and help coordinate the screening.

Pass it on.

The Bicyclists Rides To The Columbia Gorge International Film Festival

We're happy to announce that The Bicyclists has been chosen to screen at The Columbia Gorge International Film Festival

The festival takes place August 18-22, 2010 in the downtown Hilton in Vancouver, Washington. The Bicyclists will screen on Friday, August 20th at 8pm. It sounds like they'll be plenty of other local filmmakers around and the screening quality looks to be top-notch.

Another film we worked on "Shaniko" with the illustrious Melissa Goad, aka Lissa Valentine, was accepted to screen at the festival also.

I think this calls for a group bike ride across the river to watch them both.

The Bicyclists Shows at BikeFilmFest

We're happy to announce that The Bicyclists will screen as part of BikeFilmFest. It is one of many activities at the 11th Annual Pioneer Valley Bike Commute Week in Amherst,Massachusetts.

The photo used to illustrate the festival in The Valley Advocate's Cinema Dope by Jack Brown is perfect, but of course I'm biased in the favor bicyclists sporting mustaches, angel wings, fishnets and boas. (Not all at once of course, but to each his own.)

If you know of, sponsor or have an event that benefits your community or a non-profit in your area and you'd like show The Bicyclists as a part of a fundraiser or the festivities please drop us a line we'd love to talk. We can provide a copy of the film, posters, and help coordinate with the venue whether it's a theater, bar, coffee shop or outdoor venue.
