There's been a lot going on behind the scenes at Craftmaster Independent.

We've been finalizing the edit, creating graphics, and fixing sound. In addition to that we've been scoring and adding existing music to create a local flavor to the film.

Some days I feel like Edmond Dantès in "The Count of Monte Cristo" slowly tunneling himself out of the island prison of the Château d'If. I make a small amount of progress every day and every day the texture and richness of the film increases enough to keep me going another day.

We're on track for an early 2009 release for a premiere, entry into film festivals and distribution. We're in the early stages of planning a cross-country tour for The Bicyclists that would include taking the film from city to city and showing it in local theaters. Once the logistics are worked out we'll put the info up on "The Bicyclists" web site.

Until then look out for a new Spare Parts coming soon...really.

"Urban Velo" is a magazine about the people that make up the intertwined web of culture that is the urban bike community.

I spotted an article that you might like to read, especially at the beginning of a new year when we think about our place in the world, appraise the past year and make resolutions for the next.

It's about "Ghost Bikes" What are ghost bikes? Ghost bikes are roadside memorials to fallen bicyclists. They are put up by the friends and family of bicyclists to honor their loved ones and to remind people to drive and ride safely.
